The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) said a new scam involving counterfeit court notices is making the rounds. Counterfeit notices – designed to look like records from a state or county court – are demanding people pay fines ("judgments") against them for various parking or toll violations. 2 window installers shot in Winter Park after confronting theft, police say
Police said the shooting was reported around 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday near Overlook Road and Sylvan Boulevard. Two adult men were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital, police said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. "Preliminary investigation appears to indicate the victims were shot after they confronted two suspects involved in the burglary and theft of tools," Winter Park Police said around 7 p.m.
