Local players earn college flag football scholarships

Six Seminole High School girls flag football team members recently received scholarships to play in college. The girls who received scholarships are: Mikazia Carmenatty, Justyce Knight, Aaliyah Bailey, Nakyla Simms, Shyla Fideum and Gianna Diaz. FOX 35's Morgan Parrish talks to the girls, as well as their coach, about the impact of the scholarships.

Special send-off for Seminole High School water polo teams

Just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, the girls and boys water polo teams at Seminole High School participated in a special send-off before leaving for the state competition in Miami. This is the second year in a row that both teams have made it to states final four. The girls are ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 1 in the nation with a record of 27-1. The boys record is 20-8, and they’re ranked fourth in Florida.

Local dancers compete as USA National Hip Hop team

A group of young girls, mostly from Seminole County, are heading to represent the USA in the National Youth Hip Hop Division. The team is made up of mostly 12-to-14-year-old girls. The team will compete from April 23-25 at the Wide World Sports.

Altamonte police search for missing teen girl with autism

The Altamonte Springs Police Department (ASPD) is asking for the public's help in locating a 13-year-old girl with autism who went missing on Tuesday. Police say Rachael Scott was last seen around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Wymore Road in Seminole County. Anyone with information on Rachael's location is asked to call the ASPD at (407) 339-2441 or to dial 911.

Suspect pleads guilty to commit money laundering

The husband of a woman who was carjacked and killed in Seminole County has just accepted a plea deal. Miguel Aguas-Vivas pled guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering. Federal investigators believe his please could assist in convicting the other four suspects.

Nationwide "Hands Off" protests are taking place as people rally against the Trump administration this weekend. The movement calls on lawmakers to protect basic rights and social services. Their message is "enough is enough."
