FOX 35's David Martin is back in Daytona Beach today, where he is checking out the Jeep Beach main event weekend that features a vendor show and a thrilling obstacle course. Jeep Beach runs through Saturday, April 26, at the Daytona International Speedway.

A 1-year-old child was killed on Wednesday night after being hit by two vehicles in Daytona Beach, according to police. Officials said the child ran into the street while chasing the family dog, which had escaped from their home. While following the dog, the child stepped into oncoming traffic and was hit.

Cody Ryan Henderson, a wanted fugitive out of several counties in Georgia, fled from deputies who said they spotted his truck on Tuesday in Daytona Beach. In addition to Henderson's criminal history, deputies say the 39-year-old man faces charges including operating a chop shop, forgery, terroristic threats and obstruction.

Officials say two people were injured, with one declared a trauma alert, after a car crash on Saturday in Daytona Beach. The crash involved two cars at the intersection of Seabreeze Boulevard and North Peninsula Drive, authorities said. Reports show one of the cars involved in the crash slammed right into local business, Goldfingers Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery.

A Florida man was recently arrested for allegedly making and storing homemade explosives in his house. Sebastian Tinsley, 21, is now being charged with possession of potential explosive devices.

A 270-acre wildfire sparked Tuesday in Volusia County, east of Lake Helen and Deltona, sending massive plumes of smoke into the air, according to the Florida Forest Service and Volusia County Fire Rescue. Although the fire is only 80% contained, no homes or buildings have been damaged.

A Florida woman has been arrested after police say she bought and sold human bones in her curio store. Kymberlee Schopper, 52, is facing charges of trading in human tissue. Records show Schopper was released Friday from the Volusia County Jail on a bond of $7,500.

A Michigan woman was arrested in Florida for allegedly scamming a local resident out of $52,000, according to Sheriff Mike Chitwood. Demetria Latimer, 59, was booked into the Volusia County jail on charges organized scheme to defraud and grand theft. Investigators believe Latimer may have played a key role in laundering money from other victims nationwide.

A 6-year-old girl and her dog were found wandering in a woman's front yard on Friday in Deltona. Authorities learned the child was homeless and did not attend school. The child's grandparents have now taken her into custody. Deputies said they have arrested the girl's mother and her boyfriend, who are facing charges of desertion of a child and abandonment of an animal.
