Dr. Jan McGee has served at Burns Science and Technology Charter School for 12 years. At the most recent board meeting, tensions rose as three members of the administration filed their resignations in light of the incident. In an effort to keep them employed, McGee countered by resigning herself.

Shift Supervisor Tom Eggers fielded the call on Sunday. A woman called 9-1-1 shortly after finding a two-year-old girl face down in the pool. According to the audio of the call, the girl was not breathing at the time of the discovery.
