More than 100 dead in Texas floods, dozens still missing

At least 105 people have died during the catastrophic flooding in Central Texas. The majority of those killed were in Kerr County, where 28 children have died — including at Camp Mystic. At least 23 people are still missing, with a massive search underway involving hundreds of volunteers and more than 20 state agencies.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said at least 27 people are dead in a catastrophic flooding event in the Hill Country area of Texas Saturday morning. Speaking at a news conference Saturday morning Leitha said 18 adults and nine children have been recovered. More than 24 hours into the recovery efforts, Leitha said 850 people have been rescued uninjured and another eight were rescued with injury. Among those confirmed dead Saturday morning, Leitha said six adults and one child remain unidentified.

Texas severe flooding: 24 killed, 20 campers missing

The Kerr County Sheriff's Office is calling flooding in Kerr County "catastrophic." According to officials in a Friday night press conference, several people are missing and there are at least 24 deaths in Central Texas. Search and rescue efforts will continue until everyone is accounted for, officials said.

Tropical Depression Two develops in the Gulf

The second Tropical Depression of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season has developed in the Gulf, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). If, by chance, the storm's peak winds managed to reach 40 mph, it would become Tropical Storm Barry. Tropical Depression Two is currently in the Southern Bay of Campeche riding along the Mexican Coast.

Hurricane Erik nears Mexico's southern coast

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that Hurricane Erick is expected to make landfall in the western portions of the Mexican state of Oaxaca or the eastern portion of the Mexican state of Gurrero on Thursday morning, and then continue inland over Mexico during the day.
