Police: 1 dead, 4 injured after shooting in Gainesville

Investigators said that the incident happened around 10 p.m. when an SUV drove by the 8th Avenue Food Store. Someone inside the vehicle reportedly fired multiple gunshots, hitting five people.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - One person was killed and four others were hurt in a shooting late Sunday night in Gainesville.

Investigators said that the incident happened around 10 p.m. when an SUV drove by the 8th Avenue Food Store. Someone inside the vehicle reportedly fired multiple gunshots, hitting five people. Four of them suffered non-life-threatening injuries and one other person died at Shands Hospital.
