Florida man accused of peeing on Sam’s Club food, causing over $10K in damage
ORLANDO, Fla. - A Florida man may need more than toilet paper to clean up his legal mess. That's because he's accused of urinating in the aisle of Sam's Club, causing more than $10,000 in food to be flushed away.
What we know:
According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged incident happened on the morning of May 30, 2025, at a Sam's Club in Lady Lake, Florida.
A woman shopping that morning noticed the man, later identified as Patrick Francis Mitchell, appearing to relieve himself in Aisle 18, home to Vienna sausages, canned spam, and other canned goods, the report said.
She took a photo of the man with her cell phone and then notified store employees.

Surveillance video inside the store recorded the man walking up to two pallets of food, placing his hands in front of him and below his belt line, and standing there for several seconds. He then walked to the snack section, sat on some patio furniture for 10 minutes, then walked to the registers, where he paid for some items, and left, the report said.
Sam's Club managers inspected the damage and confirmed that two pallets of food – 188 units of canned Vienna Sausages and 345 units of canned Spam Classic – were covered in urine.
All the food had to be thrown away, totaling $10,584.84 in lost goods, managers told detectives.
The managers then looked up the man's name and address using his Sam's Club membership and gave that information to the authorities.
The man was arrested and booked into the Martin County jail on two charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, according to online records.
A judge issued a $3,000 bond. He was released the next day, according to online records.
On June 10, Mitchell pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to online court records. His next court date is scheduled for June 30.
It was not immediately clear if Mitchell had hired an attorney to represent him.
