An armed man in "distress" was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff at a Cocoa Beach business that began early Monday morning, police said.  The Cocoa Beach Police Department first responded to reports of a subject armed with a firearm in distress around midnight, June 22, before locating the man in his business in the area of 625 North Atlantic Avenue hours later.

Several metal plates have been installed along a neighborhood road in Palm Bay, which started to collapse after days of heavy rains. The neighborhood HOA said a pipe failed, as well as heavy rains. The City of Palm Bay said the private road needs to be maintained by the HOA, while the HOA said it's not their pipe.

Construction crews are on site at a senior neighborhood on Turkey Creek Drive in Palm Bay, where part of the roadway has begun to crumble. Officials told FOX 35's Esther Bower that a pipe beneath the roadway was failing and that a metal cover was placed over the road. However, holes began to form early Wednesday following days of heavy rains.
