The Brevard County deputies arrested Theodore "Teddy" Gross on several charges, including: 3,787 counts of failure to obtain a certificate of destruction, 1,578 counts of violation of derelict motor vehicle regulations, grand theft, scheme to defraud, operating a chop shop, dealing in stolen property, conspiracy to racketeer, maintaining racketeering property and using proceeds from racketeering, the sheriff's office said.  Ivey said Gross wasn't properly vetting the vehicles and was creating fraudulent registrations.  Gross is being held without bond. 

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) executed a search warrant at a local business on Thursday, March 26 leading to a massive seizure of property. The investigation centered on Scrappys Auto Salvage, located on Korbin Avenue in Rockledge. Immigration activists were tipped off the search could also have to do with immigration and showed up to document the large-scale operation.

Brevard County residents cheered after the proposal for a natural gas plant in Merritt Island was unanimously rejected. Brevard County commissioners believed property values of those living near the plant could be negatively impacted. 

Mulch on fire produced an "awful" smell for nearby residents living in Malabar, Florida. The area, zoned for rural residential purposes, was being used for industrial uses, such as mulching, a town spokesperson confirmed. 

Residents are frustrated and concerned after an audit uncovered that $1 million was missing from the city of Titusville. Now, "appalled" residents want to make sure this issue doesn't happen again.

FULL PRESS CONFERENCE | A woman died following a shooting involving a suspect and Palm Bay Police's SWAT. The department responded to a reported shooting on March 23 and returned fire. A woman was found dead inside a Palm Bay home. 

A 54-year-old woman was found dead inside a home after a multi-hour SWAT standoff with Palm Bay Police. Chief of Police Mariano Augello said SWAT returned fire after a female shooter first shot at them. It's not known how the woman died at this time. 

The Palm Bay Police Department reported an active incident at a home in the area of Jupiter Boulevard and Serenade Street around 4:45 p.m., March 23.  At least eight department vehicles were seen lining the streets outside a home, Monday evening

Though the weekend of March 21 is expected to be warm and sunny, beachgoers should be wary of strong rip currents along the Florida coast. If a red flag is flying, simply put, don't go in the water. 

After putting down a few cones and creating another line of cars, the traffic problems at Suntree Elementary in Melbourne appear to be gone. Now parents say the school cares about traffic safety by trying to fix it. 

Neighbors living near a condemned home in Indialantic are frustrated with the lack of progress in getting rid of the problem. However, due to strict property laws, authorities can't get involved, unless criminal activity is involved.
