Southern Hill Farms in Lake County is returning with its 10th annual Fall Festival on Sept. 27. The festival takes place on select Thursdays and every weekend through Nov. 23. All northbound lanes on Florida's turnpike near the Clermont area are currently blocked due to a tractor trailer on fire. There have been no injuries reported, and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and tow trucks are at the scene to help with clean-up.

A Clermont man was shot and killed by deputies overnight after they responded to reports of a suspicious person, officials say. The man killed has been identified as 39-year-old Eric Escoba. Officials have confirmed the deputy involved in the shooting was placed on administrative leave pending a review by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which they said is normal procedure.

The Clermont Police Department is rolling out some new equipment aimed at emphasizing the importance of seatbelts. It comes after three women were killed in a deadly crash earlier this week, and no one was wearing seatbelts.

People living in a Clermont neighborhood have been waiting for a new connector road at Sawgrass Bay Boulevard. The new road would shave about 20 minutes off a commute between Lake and Orange counties. Some people say that connector was a selling point when they bought their home. However, the road is still not done years later.
