FEMA Orlando site offering first doses of Pfizer

With Johnson & Johnson vaccines still on pause, the FEMA site in Orlando started to give out first doses of Pfizer vaccines again on Tuesday. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said there should be enough Pfizer doses to meet demand.

Combatting vaccine hesitation

Vaccine hesitancy was already a concern for officials and health experts. Now, some worry that with news of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine being investigated for possibly causing blood clots, even more people will be hesitant to get vaccinated.

On Tuesday, U.S. officials recommended a pause on the use of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in order to investigate U.S. reports of a rare type of blood clot following vaccination.

FEMA site closes after Johnson & Johnson vaccine pause

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's COVID-19 vaccine site at Valencia College in Orange County paused distribution of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Some expressed frustration while many were actually relieved.
